PLANNING BOARD:
There is a planning Board Position available immediately, if you have an interest please submit a letter of interest to the Town office . This board meets once a month on Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. Letter can be submitted to : Thorndike Town Office, Planning Board, P.O. Box 10 Thorndike Maine 04986 or you can to : clerk@thorndikeme.com. Applications should be received by Monday April 15 2024 by 2:00 p.m.
EMA Director
Brit Rothrock is stepping down as the town's EMA Director, thank you so much for your commitment to the Town of Thorndike. The Select Board is now interviewing new candidates for the position of EMA Director. If you have an interest in the position please submit you letter of interest by February 20 by 2:00 p.m. You can submit letter of interest to Thorndike Town Office, P.O. Box 10. Animal Control Officer : Perri Peterson has been hired for the new ACO of Thorndike and Jessica Small is the Asst. Aco
Thorndike Cemetery Committee is expanding the Veterans Memorial with brick pathway.
They have started a fundraiser for this. You can purchase a brick for a Fallen Veteran, Present Veteran, a brick in memory of a lost loved one or you can sponsor a brick just in your Family name. Below is a link to see the order process. You can come into the town office or the clerk could take your order over the phone.
Community update. Trash stickers are now $1.50 each effective 6/23/2023
Curbside Trash Pickup is Every Monday- trash should be out by 7 a.m.
Curbside Recycling is still the 1st Wednesday of each Month out by 7 a.m. ( please be sure recycling is sorted, and bundled correctly or it will not be picked up) If there is bad weather and RSU 3 has been cancelled then Recycling will be picked up the following day.

Every Tuesday
At the Thorndike Town Office
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Back to regular days .
This is opportunity to get out and touch base with your neighbors and socialize.
There will beverages and snacks available.
There will cards, cribbage, puzzles, games or a place just to sit and “chew the fat”.
Hope to expand this to a monthly luncheon at some point.
This is all trial and error and hope folks come out to give it a chance. This is your time and you can make of it what you like, so come with fresh ideas.
